General

How does Ask&Bid work?

Ask&Bid makes crypto swaps simple and secure. Here’s how it works:
- Find the best rate: Enter your desired trade, and we’ll show you the best rates from our trusted partner exchanges.
- No account needed: Choose your preferred exchange and swap directly—no need to sign up or deposit funds on a centralized platform.
- Fast and safe: Send your crypto to the provided address, and your new coins will arrive in your wallet. We monitor exchanges for reliability, speed, and security, so you don’t have to.

Note: Ask&Bid is a software platform that connects you with exchanges. We never hold, access, or transfer your funds.

Why should I trust Ask&Bid?

Your trust is our priority. Here’s what sets us apart:
- Minimal data: We only keep logs when required by exchanges, and we never sell or share your data with third parties.
- No tracking: We use minimal JavaScript for a smooth experience, but you can block it and still use our site.
- Direct swaps: Your funds go straight from you to the exchange and then to your wallet. We never touch your coins.

Privacy & Security

Is Ask&Bid really private? Do I need KYC?

Privacy matters. While Ask&Bid itself doesn’t require KYC, each exchange has its own policies. Some may ask for verification if your transaction raises AML flags. We clearly display each exchange’s KYC/AML rating, so you can choose the one that fits your needs.

KYC/AML Ratings Explained:
- 8-10: Privacy-friendly, uses own liquidity.
- 6-8: Refunds failed AML checks; rare blocks only for legal reasons.
- 5: Usually refunds, but may block funds if their liquidity provider flags your transaction.
- 1-4: Blocks funds until KYC/verification is completed.

Tip: Avoid sending funds from mixers or high-risk sources, as these are likely to be refused.

Using Ask&Bid

How long does a transaction take?

Most trades complete in 5–60 minutes, depending on network congestion. We show an estimated time for each exchange, so you can pick the fastest option.

What fees are included in the rates?

All fees (network and exchange) are included in the rate you see. Larger trades often get better rates, as fees are spread out. You pay the same as you would trading directly with the exchange—we earn a commission from them, not you.

Why do only a few exchanges appear for my trade?

- Some exchanges have minimum trade amounts (e.g., $10+).
- Less popular crypto pairs may have fewer options. Try using a major crypto (like BTC or ETH) as a bridge.
- If you’re using Tor/I2P, some exchanges may not be available.

What’s the difference between floating and fixed rates?

- Floating Rate: The rate may adjust slightly when your deposit is confirmed. Best for most trades.
- Fixed Rate: Locks in the rate, ideal for paying exact amounts (e.g., invoices). If the market moves too much, the exchange may refund your trade.

Tip: Use floating rates unless you need a fixed amount.

What if I send the wrong amount?

Some exchanges accept close amounts and adjust your trade; others may refuse or miss your deposit. Always double-check the amount and address!
